Magic Marker Fingers

My neice Madeleine is great. You can have an adult conversation with her and she gives you advice. It's good advice too. She always tells me to stop smoking and that I can lose weight if I want to. She also tells me that I'm not fat. I love her for that.
The best pick me up in the whole wide world is calling my sister and asking to speak to Maddaloonie (a nickname I think I gave her.) When Alisa tells her "It's Auntie Pam on the phone." Maddie greets me with the biggest "HELLO!!!!!" and so much happiness in her voice that I feel special the entire day after speaking to her. She always ends the conversation with "I love you" and I reply with "I love you more" and this could go on and on until my cell phone battery dies.
I love hearing about how her day went. She is always excited to share a little story with me or read something she wrote. She loves to cook, sing and her own style of dressing is so hip. I love visiting her and watching the cartoons she enjoys but talking to her is my favorite. She's so smart and funny.
Right now Maddie is having hair problems. She doesn't want to cut it but doesn't know what style she wants. I think she would look beautiful bald or with hair down to her toes. I could eat the freckles off her face and lick the magic marker off her fingers.
She's a girlie girl with a little tom boyish edge to her. She's beautiful in every way and I am so proud to have her as my neice. This child has taught me so much...face your fears and go head first!

Wait...I have to wipe the tears away bfore I continue.

Okay. Madeloonie is crazy about her Auntie Pam. She wants her to quit smoking and lose weight because she wants her to be around forever. It feels amazing to her to have a family member so close (yet so far) to her because there are none where we live. She loves that you pay so much attention to her and make her feel so special in every way. She feels secure with you and knows that you totally accept her in every single way no matter what.

And she does give some darn good advice, doesn't she?

Oh and she got a truly amazing haircut - I will send you pics. You'll love it!
